What was a bust for 9000 Microsoft employees is a boon for other local businesses. A Redmond, Washington tattoo shop is reporting a massive increase in clients after the recent Microsoft layoffs. Arrow and Sword, a local tattoo parlor says it has lines around the block, from former loyal Microsoft employees who want to have their Microsoft logo tattoos removed.
Proprietor Ryan Jenkins says he has had to rush to hire more artists to handle the load. “These layoffs have been great for us. Business is booming! I hear all this negative stuff about AI, but honestly we hope Microsoft keeps ’em coming, as it couldn’t be better for us right now.”
We spoke to a 23 year Microsoft veteran in line. Byron, who wished to keep his last name anonymous, had various products wrapping down his side and leg. “Yeah, I’ve worked on a lot of teams, so have a lot of commemorative logos to now get rid of. Windows Vista, MSN Messenger, Azure, SharePoint, Office 365.” We asked him which one will be the most difficult to remove. “Probably the Microsoft Sway logo on my balls.”
For a limited time only, for every logo erasure, the parlor is offering 50% off replacement tattoos for Google, Amazon, or Meta logos.
